Ronald Acuña Jr. Returns: Braves Get Their Superstar Back at the Perfect Time

ScoreClub Sports  /  July 27, 2026

The Atlanta Braves just received the boost they’ve been waiting for.

On Monday, July 27, 2026, the Braves officially activated Ronald Acuña Jr. from the 10-day injured list ahead of a crucial series against the division-rival New York Mets. After missing time with a left hamstring strain suffered on June 9, one of baseball’s most electrifying players is back where he belongs—at the top of Atlanta’s lineup.

To make room on the active roster, the Braves optioned outfielder Brewer Hicklen to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Acuña’s Impact Goes Beyond the Box Score

Even after missing significant time, Acuña has continued to produce at an elite level in 2026.

Season Stats (53 Games):

- .251 batting average

- .373 on-base percentage

- .793 slugging percentage

- 7 home runs

- 22 RBIs

- 15 stolen bases

While those numbers are impressive, they don’t fully capture what Acuña means to the Braves. His combination of power, speed, energy, and leadership changes the complexion of every game he plays.

The Numbers Tell the Story

Atlanta has looked like two completely different teams this season depending on whether Acuña is in the lineup.

With Ronald Acuña Jr.: 37-16

Without Ronald Acuña Jr.: 25-27

That’s one of the biggest differences a single player has made for any contender in Major League Baseball this season. His presence fuels the offense, creates pressure on opposing pitchers, and energizes the entire clubhouse.

A Huge Return at the Right Time

The timing couldn’t be better.

The Braves begin an important series against the New York Mets with momentum now swinging back in their favor. Every game matters as the National League playoff race heats up, and getting a healthy Acuña back could be exactly what Atlanta needs to make another postseason push.

If Acuña stays healthy, expect his home run totals, stolen bases, and overall production to climb quickly over the final months of the season. More importantly, expect the Braves to look much more like the championship contender fans expected entering the year.

Final Thoughts

Baseball is simply more exciting when Ronald Acuña Jr. is on the field.

His return gives the Braves one of the game’s most dynamic playmakers at a critical point in the season and instantly makes Atlanta a more dangerous team. Whether it’s crushing home runs, stealing bases, or igniting the crowd with his infectious energy, Acuña has a unique ability to change games—and perhaps the Braves’ entire season.

One thing is certain: the Braves are better when No. 13 is in the lineup.

Welcome back, Ronald Acuña Jr.
